


The following teams have finished in the top four of their respective IHSA state championship tournament: Men also compete in baseball and football, while women also compete in badminton and softball. There are also men's and women's lacrosse teams and an ice hockey team, although these sports are not sponsored by the IHSA. Wreslting is designated as a coed sport at Lyons. The school participates in many interscholastic sports in the West Suburban Conference, and since the conference realigned in 1986, has played in its silver division.įor men and women, the school sponsors interscholastic teams which compete in Illinois High School Association (IHSA) sponsored state tournaments in: basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and water polo.

LTHS South campus also includes an alternative learning program Athletics In 2005, a performing arts center, a fieldhouse, and a pool were added to the South campus to complement the facilities at the North campus.Ĭurrently, about 4,000 students attend the school. In 1956, a second campus was opened about a mile south-west in nearby Western Springs to accommodate the community's growing population. An athletic field was constructed in 1914, and a 1926-1929 expansion included a clock tower, auditorium, offices, library, and a gym. Lyons Township High School was opened on September 3, 1888.
